Dog Grooming at Cottage Kennels
Fran runs her own dog grooming business which is located in a lovely, professional and quiet part of Cottage Kennels. All the dogs are groomed on a one to one basis to make their experience as happy and stress-free as possible. Fran offers a wide range of services for all breeds of dogs starting from a little Chihuahua to a New foundland.
Dog Grooming is available to everyone, your dog doesn't need to stay with us at the kennels, you can just call Fran on her mobile and book an appointment.
All coat types require specific grooming in order to keep the coat in tip-top condition. Grooming has great benefits for your dog including removing the dead hair, distributing natural oils to keep your dog's skin healthy and for us to check for any fleas, ticks and lumps. Our main aim is to keep your dog happy, fluffy and smelling beautiful!
Full Groom
Our full grooms are for dogs looking for a new look or a tidy up. This includes a bath, brush and blows dry, nails trimmed, ears cleaned and plucked and a choice of a clip or a trim.
Bathing
Having a bath for your pampered pooch, whether it be for a medical condition, they've rolled in something unpleasant or you just think they need a bath and brush, you can do it with us.
Puppy Grooming
Grooming a puppy is very similar to grooming a grown-up dog although their coat may be fluffier and they can wiggle around a lot. A first puppy bath and groom is great to build confidence and trust between us as groomers and of course your pup. We give lots of cuddles and positive reinforcement to make your puppy's experience of being groomed a pleasurable one.
Handstripping
This is a grooming method that involves plucking and pulling out the dead hair in the direction it grows. Mainly dogs with a wire coat can be hand stripped either with bare fingers or a stripping knife in order to remove the dead coat and create a shape. It's a more natural way to groom some dogs for example Border Terriers, Airedales and Italian Spinone's.
Nail Clipping
For customers that are just looking to get their dog's nails trimmed as they are getting too long. Your dog can be staying in the kennels or you could just be popping by for a nail trim.
